"Carving, cutting, breaking, shaping, tracing, folding, skinning"

If you've ever seen Jessica Harrison's work, I'm sure you did a double take. All of her work visually interrupts a familiar object with her grotesque obsession with the human body, especially the viscera. She creates and manipulates a human flesh like material to make mini-furniture, sculpts mini mouths into flowers, or applies fly legs as fake lashes.

In her latest works she uses traditional, once adored, antique figurines and re-forms them to expose their insides-- leaving a clear message of transgression and shows a glimpse of the artist's psyche.

Happy Holidays

I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday and all the snow that is coming down today!

Even if you hate Christmas music I'm sure you'll love this surf rock recreation of "Sleigh Ride"-- re-done by the instrumental kings, The Ventures.
